Learn All about How Your Home is Valued from Seasoned Appraisal and Listen to Melinda Play Keys in the Rambler

Andrew Buckwalter interviews Mickey Manis and musician Melinda Edlin. Mickey informs us all about what an appraiser looks for when putting a value on your home. What are key items to consider when looking to invest in your home to get the most bang for you buck. Melinda Edlin is the first musician to play piano in The Rambler.

The show opens with Melinda’s performance of the song titled “Three Ships.”

Guest #1: Melinda Edlin

Melinda and her husband have been in Nashville for a year and a half already. She started into music during her early childhood.

“When you are born with a gift, sometimes it’s just hard to suppress that. It just keeps coming out.” – Andrew Buckwalter on Melinda Edlin’s gift in music

She composed her song at the young age of 12 and is hoping to get even better in time. Jazz and folk are her favorite genres. Stay tuned to her journey in music through the links below.

Guest #2: Mickey Manis

Mickey has been in appraisals for around 26 years now. His dad enrolled him to a real estate and auctioneering school when he was 16. He fell in love with it in the end.

“Doing both appraisal and real estate has its challenges on a time perspective, but I love doing both of them.” – Mickey Manis

He waited until he turned 18 to get a license, and worked with his dad afterward. In 1991, he moved to Nashville where he received an opportunity for work.

Challenges in Appraisals

Mickey scored the highest in appraisals when he took the real estate exam. But he’s had his own challenges in the field, too.

He shares that the toughest part of being an appraiser is the stress of the deadlines. Sometimes he needed to rush things in order to get the project done.

Listen to Melinda Edlin close the show with her song titled “Oh, Lark.”
